One of the tests we perform often in our laboratory faecal egg counts on all production animals and horses. This gives you as an owner and we as veterinarians, valuable information on the internal parasitic load, be it worms or protozoa, of your animals and our environment. This also tells us what type of worms your animals have, so we can plan a more specific deworming schedule or even if it is necessary to deworm your animals, saving you time and money.
If you would like to make use of this service please bring in no less than half a cup full of fresh faeces. If the faeces need to stand overnight please refrigerate it. All samples need to be labelled with the owner details and the animal details, or the camp that they are in. If you want to know the status of the animals in a camp please bring in a mixed sample of multiple animals.
A report will then be sent to you with the results of the test and our recommendations.
